El Festival Literario de Estepona (FLEST) reúne a destacados artistas y escritores en un fin de semana lleno de charlas, talleres y conciertos en la torre del Mirador del Carmen

La ciudad de Estepona se convierte este fin de semana en el foco cultural de la Costa del Sol con el Festival Literario de Estepona (FLEST), que marca la apertura de la nueva Biblioteca de las Culturas Contemporáneas en el recientemente inaugurado Centro Cultural Mirador del Carmen. Durante los días 23 y 24 de noviembre, grandes nombres de la literatura, la música, el cine y la gastronomía participarán en una celebración que promete convertirse en un referente anual.
El evento, organizado por el Ayuntamiento de Estepona, incluye charlas, talleres, lecturas, conciertos y encuentros con autores reconocidos, con entrada gratuita y actividades para todos los públicos. Entre los asistentes destacados se encuentran el cineasta Oliver Laxe, los escritores Andrés Trapiello y Marta Sanz, la artista multidisciplinar Coco Dávez y el chef Paco Morales, entre otros.
Un programa cargado de arte y cultura
El festival abre sus puertas el sábado 23 de noviembre con intervenciones artísticas y talleres que prometen atraer a los amantes del arte y la creatividad. A las 9:00 horas, la artista Brianda Fitz James-Stuart realizará una obra en una de las paredes de la biblioteca, mientras que a las 12:00 horas, Coco Dávez dirigirá el taller titulado "El brochazo transformador", en el que los asistentes podrán experimentar con su estilo vibrante y colorido.
La literatura será protagonista durante toda la jornada. Destacan encuentros como el de los escritores Andrés Trapiello y Marta Fernández a las 13:00 horas, donde debatirán sobre novelas, poesía y el poder de las palabras. Por la tarde, a las 18:00 horas, Marta Sanz y Juan Marqués ofrecerán la charla "Lo íntimo y lo publicado", explorando la relación entre la escritura personal y la obra pública.
La programación del sábado culminará con la música. A las 21:00 horas, el cantautor Pablopablo, reciente ganador de dos Latin Grammy junto a su padre Jorge Drexler, subirá al escenario acompañado por artistas como Sophie Lekker DJ y Grecotechno, quienes ofrecerán una innovadora fusión de canto gregoriano y música electrónica.
El domingo: cultura en todas sus formas
El domingo 24 de noviembre, el festival continúa con talleres, ponencias y actuaciones que combinan diferentes disciplinas. A las 12:00 horas, Brianda Fitz James-Stuart impartirá un taller de pintura decorativa en la sexta planta de la biblioteca, abierto al público con inscripción previa. Simultáneamente, el auditorio acogerá encuentros literarios como el de Juan Tallón y Lucía Taboada, quienes debatirán sobre fútbol y literatura en "Fútbol, novelas y otras angustias".
La gastronomía también tendrá su espacio con la participación del chef Paco Morales, galardonado con tres estrellas Michelin. Morales se unirá al escritor y guionista Jacobo Bergareche para explorar el arte culinario en la charla "Comer para contarlo: Un día perfecto con un tres estrellas Michelin".
Por la tarde, la música y la poesía serán protagonistas. A las 18:00 horas, Coco Dávez y Guille Galván, guitarrista de Vetusta Morla, debatirán sobre el cruce entre música y literatura en "Desconocernos: artistas que escriben, poetas que cantan". La jornada cerrará con la actuación de Rosario La Tremendita, reconocida como una revolucionaria del flamenco, a las 21:00 horas.
Entrada gratuita y actividades exclusivas
Todas las actividades del FLEST son gratuitas, aunque para los talleres es necesaria la inscripción previa enviando un correo con nombre y DNI a flest@estepona.es. Las invitaciones para las charlas y conciertos pueden retirarse en el mostrador del Mirador del Carmen los días del evento.
Con esta iniciativa, Estepona reafirma su apuesta por la cultura y el arte, consolidándose como un punto de encuentro para creadores y amantes de la cultura.

On November 23 and 24, prominent figures from literature, music, cinema, and gastronomy will gather to celebrate what promises to become an annual cultural highlight.
Organized by the Estepona City Council, the event features talks, workshops, readings, concerts, and meetings with renowned authors. Entry is free, and the festival offers activities for all audiences. Among the distinguished participants are filmmaker Oliver Laxe, writers Andrés Trapiello and Marta Sanz, multidisciplinary artist Coco Dávez, and Michelin-starred chef Paco Morales.
A Program Packed with Art and Culture
The festival opens on Saturday, November 23, with artistic performances and workshops designed to captivate art enthusiasts. At 9:00 AM, artist Brianda Fitz James-Stuart will create a mural on one of the library’s walls. Later, at 12:00 PM, Coco Dávez will host a workshop titled "The Transformative Brushstroke," offering attendees a chance to experience her vibrant and colorful style.
Literature takes center stage throughout the day. Highlights include a discussion at 1:00 PM featuring writers Andrés Trapiello and Marta Fernández, who will delve into novels, poetry, and the power of words. In the evening, at 6:00 PM, Marta Sanz and Juan Marqués will lead a session titled "The Intimate and the Published," exploring the relationship between personal writing and public works.
Saturday’s program concludes with music. At 9:00 PM, singer-songwriter Pablopablo, recent winner of two Latin Grammy awards alongside his father Jorge Drexler, will take the stage, accompanied by artists like Sophie Lekker DJ and Grecotechno, known for their innovative fusion of Gregorian chant and electronic music.
Sunday: Culture in All Forms
On Sunday, November 24, the festival continues with workshops, discussions, and performances that blend diverse artistic disciplines. At 12:00 PM, Brianda Fitz James-Stuart will conduct a decorative painting workshop on the sixth floor of the library, open to the public with prior registration. Simultaneously, the auditorium will host literary discussions, including one featuring Juan Tallón and Lucía Taboada, who will talk about football and literature in "Football, Novels, and Other Anxieties."
Gastronomy takes the spotlight with Paco Morales, a three-Michelin-star chef, who will join writer and screenwriter Jacobo Bergareche for a session titled "Eating to Tell the Tale: A Perfect Day with a Three-Star Michelin Chef."
In the afternoon, music and poetry take center stage. At 6:00 PM, Coco Dávez and Guille Galván, guitarist of Vetusta Morla, will discuss the intersection of music and literature in "Knowing Ourselves: Artists Who Write, Poets Who Sing." The festival concludes at 9:00 PM with a performance by Rosario La Tremendita, celebrated as a revolutionary in flamenco music.
