San Juan´s Night in Estepona will be one of the most anticipated celebrations of the year, with a wide variety of activities for all ages. Starting at 9:00 p.m., La Rada beach will welcome attendees with a session featuring local DJs, including Monchi, Poyito, and FSC, leading up to the 10:00 p.m. concert by Rasel, a well-known urban music singer, and Sara, former member of the group ‘Las Chuches’.
The main event of the night will be the 45th 'Burning of the San Juan Mustaches' Contest, a tradition in which associations and residents of Estepona create rag dolls and figures called 'juás,' representing critiques or mockeries of popular figures. These 'juás' will be placed on the beach near the La Peseta monument, and at midnight, coinciding with the Night of San Juan, they will be burned in a bonfire, following the custom of attracting good luck throughout the year. Prizes for the three best 'juás' will be €1,000, €750, and €500, along with three runner-up awards of €300.
Magic Market: Crafts and Entertainment on the Boardwalk
Coinciding with the festivities, the Magic Market will take place on the boardwalk from June 20th to 23rd. Starting at 6:00 PM, visitors can enjoy 29 craft stalls, children's activities, falconry displays, and a variety of food and drink options. The market will be located between the La Peseta monument and the Central Beach chiringuito.
This market aims to promote craftsmanship and attract tourists and locals, complementing the San Juan Night celebrations with a unique atmosphere of magic and tradition.
