Red Cross Estepona Presents Annual Report with Recognition from the Town Hall for Its Solidarity Work

Red Cross Estepona has presented its Annual Report for 2024, highlighting its efforts in assisting the most vulnerable communities in the town. The Councillor for Citizen Participation, María Aguilar, alongside the President of the Estepona Local Assembly of Red Cross, Enrique García, emphasized the organization's significant contribution, serving 1,482 people and carrying out 27,453 social interventions throughout the year. The Town Hall reaffirms its ongoing support for the charity's work.
The Estepona Town Hall has expressed its gratitude to Red Cross Estepona for the assistance provided to over 1,400 people throughout 2024, in an event that underscores the organization’s vital role in supporting the most vulnerable groups. María Aguilar, the Councillor for Citizen Participation, praised the data presented in the organization’s Annual Report, which reflects the dedication and commitment of Red Cross Estepona.
In total, the organization carried out 27,453 social interventions during the past year, focusing on areas such as health, the environment, education, child and youth support, assistance to the elderly, immigration, refugees, and efforts to combat gender violence. These figures underline the Red Cross’s essential work in promoting social inclusion and supporting the most at-risk populations.
Red Cross Estepona’s Solidarity Effort
Enrique García, President of the Estepona Local Assembly of Red Cross, highlighted that 2024 was marked by an increase in projects and a greater direct impact on the people in greatest need. He also emphasized the crucial role played by the 119 volunteers who contributed a total of 11,150 hours of work. García publicly thanked the volunteers for their dedication and hard work in areas such as emergency services, extreme vulnerability, health, and immigration support.
The support from 1,182 members of the organization was also essential in ensuring the continued operation of Red Cross Estepona’s programs. García expressed his appreciation for the vital role that members play in enabling the charity to carry out its mission.
Town Hall’s Ongoing Commitment to Red Cross
María Aguilar also reiterated the Estepona Town Hall’s continued commitment to supporting Red Cross, emphasizing the various forms of assistance provided to the organization. "It is a priority for the Town Hall to support Red Cross and all entities that work to improve the lives of the most vulnerable people in our town," said Aguilar.
The Estepona Town Hall collaborates with Red Cross through direct financial assistance, the provision of municipal facilities and spaces for use as offices or for holding charity events, as well as fiscal support and participation in solidarity activities organized by the organization. This close collaboration enables Red Cross to continue fulfilling its mission in the town.
