Estepona unveils its varied cultural summer program
Concerts, festivals, theater, and exhibitions: Estepona's activity agenda will surprise everyone this summer.
Estepona kicks off its cultural summer with over 100 activities for all tastes and audiences. From late June to late September, the city hosts a comprehensive agenda of events, including concerts, festivals, exhibitions, and open-air cinema.
This summer, Estepona becomes the cultural hub of the Costa del Sol, with over one hundred activities organized by the Town Hall. The program, which includes everything from flamenco concerts to open-air cinema, is designed for the whole family and promises to satisfy all tastes. Culture and Fiestas Councillor, Macarena Diánez, presented the program on June 27th, highlighting the diversity and international character of the events.
Concerts and festivals for all tastes
One of the major events of the summer will be the Boombastic Festival Costa del Sol, held from July 24 to 26, featuring performances by artists such as Melendi, Saiko, Steve Aoki, and Tiago PZK. In addition, the Municipal Music Band concert cycle, starting on July 20, will feature a special performance by Serafín Zubiri in August, dedicated to Miguel Ríos.
Flamenco music will also take center stage with the "Movida Flamenca," a show featuring artists like Javier Ojeda, Daniel Casares, and Pedro Guerra at Parque El Ángel in early August. Additionally, Pablo Carbonell will offer an acoustic concert on August 6 at Plaza Antonia Guerrero.
A summer of cinema and theater
Estepona is repeating its successful Cine de Verano (Summer Cinema) cycle, which will screen recent blockbusters like Kung Fu Panda 4 and Gru 4: Minions. The 50th anniversary of Jaws will also be commemorated with lectures, exhibitions, and the screening of the movie at La Rada Beach.
Theater and comedy will also have their place with performances like Manolo Morera's monologue No Me Enfado, Pero Me Da Coraje and the comedy Misión Impro-Sible. Children will enjoy shows such as the musical Aladdin and the Wonderful Lamp and Los Farandulitos en la Granja.
Exhibitions and cultural activities
Exhibitions will be a prominent feature this summer, with highlights including the immersive Van Gogh exhibition, which will remain at the Exhibition Palace until September 21. Moreover, the Mirador del Carmen Cultural Center will host a sculpture exhibition by Juan Miguel Quiñones starting August 1.
Leisure and gastronomy
The Summer Book Fair, celebrating its 30th edition, will be another highlight of Estepona’s summer. Additionally, the World Ham Contest, taking place from August 8 to 17 at the Paseo Marítimo, will offer free concerts every night, with performances by artists like No Me Pises Que Llevo Chancla, La Húngara, and Mojinos Escozíos.
On July 12, the Plaza Manilva will host Wine Street, an enological experience that combines gastronomy and music. The Fashion Week will take place from September 24 to 27, featuring the 6th Young Designers’ Contest in Estepona.
This cultural summer will have a significant impact on the city, both economically and socially. The events will attract both tourists and residents, creating a large influx of people across Estepona’s various locations. The program reflects the Town Hall’s commitment to offering accessible cultural experiences for everyone—locals and visitors alike.
With such a complete and diverse agenda, Estepona is positioned as an ideal destination to enjoy the summer, not only for its weather and beaches but also for the rich cultural offerings throughout the season. From concerts to exhibitions and festivals, Estepona’s cultural summer promises to be a resounding success.
