Estepona renovates 19 streets with its 7th Paving Plan
The Council invests €1.4 million to improve the road network, prioritizing outlying areas.
Estepona Town Hall has awarded a €1.4 million contract for the 7th Municipal Paving Plan, which will renovate around twenty urban roads over the next five months, with special attention to outlying areas where road surface deterioration is most severe.
The Estepona Council continues its commitment to improving road infrastructure with this seventh action program, which builds on plans executed in previous years to upgrade main and secondary streets throughout the municipality.
Objective: sustainability and road safety
The intervention’s main goal is pavement renovation applying environmental sustainability criteria. According to the Deputy Mayor for Development, Infrastructure and Tourism (FIT), Ana Velasco, “these plans carry out comprehensive intervention that guarantees road functionality and extends its useful life.”
The works aim to improve safety and comfort for drivers and pedestrians, while reducing noise pollution generated by road traffic and decreasing air pollution. The action will also preserve the municipal road heritage, preventing deterioration from advancing to the point where complete road surface reconstruction becomes necessary, with the consequent cost increase.
19 roads selected based on deterioration level
To prioritize roads for rehabilitation, the Town Hall has considered technical criteria such as pavement wear or age and average traffic intensity. A total of 19 roads will be upgraded, though this number could expand as work progresses or project needs arise.
In the town center, actions will focus on:
Carmen Laforet Street
Puerta del Mar Avenue
Los Reales Avenue
Segovia Avenue
Camelias Street
Río Guadalmina Street
In outlying areas, where most interventions are concentrated, work will reach:
Lubina Street
Alfarnate
Alcaucín
México Avenue
Violeta Street
Levante Street
Del Reposo Street
Bahía Azul urbanization
Del Tenis Street
Del Romero Street
Camomila Street
De la Paz Avenue
Edison Street
