The 2nd Estepona Literary Festival (FLEST) will take place from June 27 to 29 at the Mirador del Carmen Cultural Center, an event that, following the success of its first edition, is set to be a cultural landmark for the town and the Western Costa del Sol. This new edition promises a varied program that includes talks, workshops, exhibitions, and concerts, featuring renowned writers, illustrators, journalists, and musicians.
Some of the most anticipated names include the Cervantes Prize winner Sergio Ramírez, bestselling romantic novelist Megan Maxwell, poets Elvira Sastre and Luis García Montero, and paleontologist Juan Luis Arsuaga. The program will also feature journalists like Manuel Jabois and Esther García Llovet, alongside a series of activities suitable for all audiences, from art workshops to live concerts.
This event will not only attract local residents but also tourists interested in culture and the arts. The Mirador del Carmen Cultural Center is thus becoming one of the main cultural spaces on the Costa del Sol for hosting high-level artistic events. Additionally, the festival will enhance Estepona’s reputation as a cultural and artistic destination.
The first edition of FLEST, held in 2024, was a great success, attracting over 2,000 attendees. The event has become an important cultural fixture in the region’s calendar, reflecting positive feedback from both the public and participants.
Estepona's mayor, José María García Urbano, emphasized the significance of the festival as a demonstration of the town’s commitment to culture and the arts. “Estepona has become a cultural reference point in the province of Málaga thanks to events like this, which enrich our cultural offerings and invigorate the city,” he said. He also highlighted the importance of having a venue like the Mirador del Carmen Cultural Center to host such high-profile events.
