Estepona celebrates the Days of Francophone Culture
Exhibition, cinema, storytelling, pétanque and gourmet market from 19 November to 3 December
Estepona will host the Days of Francophone Culture from 19 November to 3 December 2025, a programme that will fill the city with cinema, art, gastronomy, live music and family-friendly activities. The initiative, organised by the Alliance Française of Estepona – Málaga Delegation, the Estepona Town Hall, Esprit Sud Magazine and the Estepona Pétanque Club, strengthens cultural ties with the large francophone community living on the Costa del Sol.
Over two weeks, Estepona becomes a meeting point for residents, international neighbours and visitors interested in the culture of France, Belgium and Switzerland.
The programme spans several emblematic venues in the city —the Padre Manuel Cultural Centre, Mirador del Carmen, Plaza del Ajedrez and the Estepona Pétanque Club— offering free or low-cost activities that blend art, reflection, family entertainment and gastronomy.
An exhibition between art and reflection at the Padre Manuel Cultural Centre
From 19 November to 3 December, the Padre Manuel Cultural Centre will host an exhibition inspired by the graphic work “Un monde sans fin”.
The exhibition explores the dialogue between Jean-Marc Jancovici and Christophe Blain, focusing on key themes such as energy, development models and climate change.
The display invites Estepona’s public to reflect on how global challenges also affect local life, in a municipality increasingly engaged with sustainability and environmental awareness.

On 25 November, the children’s library of the same venue will host a bilingual storytelling session in French and Spanish at 6.00 p.m., open to children and adults alike.
The activity aims to bring the French language closer to families in Estepona, encouraging bilingual learning and cultural exchange.
Pétanque, community spirit and conviviality
On Saturday, 22 November, the Estepona Pétanque Club (Calle Félix Troyano) will hold a morning pétanque session from 10.00 a.m. to 1.00 p.m., featuring:
Pétanque competition
Open initiation session for all skill levels
This event fosters intergenerational interaction and community spirit, highlighting a leisure activity closely linked to francophone culture and increasingly popular on the Costa del Sol.
Organisers describe the day as “a moment of conviviality and good humour that truly embodies francophone spirit”, welcoming both Spanish locals and international residents.
