Cielo Skybar: The bar with the best views in Estepona
The new hotspot in Estepona, located at Mirador del Carmen. Offering cocktails, local cuisine, and an exclusive atmosphere to enjoy the finest views.
Cielo Skybar, an innovative bar and restaurant concept, opened its doors last September on the 12th floor of the Mirador del Carmen in Estepona. With a capacity for 55 people and a menu based on local products, it promises to become a must-visit spot for both residents and tourists. Local entrepreneur Juan José Martínez, who has over 30 years of experience in the industry, is in charge of leading this new project.
Cielo Skybar has arrived in Estepona to offer a unique experience, where spectacular views of the town blend with a gastronomic concept focused on local products. Located on the 12th floor of the iconic Mirador del Carmen, the venue has a capacity of 40 people on its covered terrace and 15 in the outdoor area. While reservations aren't accepted, the space is designed so both locals and tourists can enjoy an exclusive atmosphere just steps from the sky.

Cielo Skybar: Access and Pricing
To enter the Skybar, visitors must pay a small fee upon arrival at the ground floor, which varies depending on their place of residence: €1 for Estepona locals or €3 for those from outside the area. This fee can be redeemed for a drink at the bar, which offers a wide selection of cocktails, coffee, light dishes, and wines, along with a culinary menu that perfectly complements the flavors of the region.
Opening Hours and Atmosphere
The Skybar is open from 10:00 AM to 2:00 AM, with extended hours until 3:00 AM on weekends. Cielo Skybar serves everything from breakfast to dinner, making it an ideal spot for any time of day. Martínez’s vision is clear: to provide a space where guests can enjoy Estepona’s stunning sunsets, with offerings tailored to all tastes.

The Drive of a Local Entrepreneur
Juan José Martínez, a well-known Estepona entrepreneur with 32 years of experience in hospitality, emphasizes that Cielo Skybar is designed to be accessible while maintaining the quality expected from his track record. “I want locals to enjoy this space, and the demand and interest we’ve seen during construction confirm it will be a success,” he says.
Martínez also highlights the boost Estepona’s city center will receive with the opening of new cultural facilities, such as the conservatory and library on floors 1 through 8 of the Mirador building. With these additions, Cielo Skybar becomes part of the area’s revitalization, which had previously felt somewhat neglected compared to other parts of the city.

A Partnership with Aprona
As part of its social commitment, Martínez has reiterated his satisfaction in working with Aprona Association, a local organization that supports the inclusion of people with disabilities. The management company of Cielo Skybar will continue collaborating with them, ensuring their work and community spirit remain a key part of the project.
New Culinary Ventures
But Cielo Skybar isn’t Martínez’s only ambitious project. In just over a month, the 10th and 11th floors of the same building will house Cielo Room, a restaurant seating 60 guests that will accept reservations. Martínez hints that the menu will be diverse, featuring Mediterranean cuisine with touches of Japanese influence—still in the planning stages.
Cielo Skybar doesn’t just aim to become a new culinary and leisure hotspot in Estepona—it also seeks to revitalize the city center, an area the entrepreneur himself says needed a boost. Combining high-quality dining with a one-of-a-kind atmosphere in the heart of Estepona, it will offer residents and tourists a special place to enjoy the city from above.
With a vision to connect locals and visitors to the best of Estepona, Cielo Skybar aspires to become a go-to gathering spot. The coming weeks will be crucial in confirming its success, especially with the opening of Cielo Room, which will bring a fresh dining experience to the town.
I went there with my wife and two friends to enjoy the view and to have dinner. An alltogether very disappointing experience. The restaurant was completely empty on our arrival at 19.45-ish. The staff said they expected more guests. When we booked online, there were only a few available time-slots, 19.30 being one of them and was chosen. The menu was short; three or four starters and three or four mains, all of which were very expensive. This promised a fine dining experience! The food that was served was of poor quality throughout. without going into detail, we were all very disappointed to say the least. Unless there has been a change in management and a new chef installed since late April, my recommendation is to close the restaurant down. By the way - not a single person arrived to eat during our visit, which ended at 22.15.
