‘BODIES. Real Human Bodies’ Exhibition Comes to Estepona
An educational exhibit on human anatomy will be open to the public from April 11 to May 11 at the Palacio de Exposiciones
The Palacio de Exposiciones in Estepona will host the educational exhibition ‘BODIES. Real Human Bodies’ starting on April 11. This itinerant exhibit, a worldwide success, offers a deep and educational look into human anatomy through preserved and dissected human bodies. The exhibition will be open until May 11 and provides a unique opportunity to explore the internal structure of the human body.
Estepona’s Councillor for Culture and Fiestas, Macarena Diánez, and the event’s promoter, Rascid Bafraouri, presented the exhibition today, highlighting its educational focus and emphasis on the importance of maintaining good health.
A Glimpse into the Human Body
The local government representative emphasized that one of the main objectives of the exhibition is to help visitors understand the complexity of the human body while reflecting on the harmful effects of unhealthy habits such as smoking, poor diet, or a sedentary lifestyle.
“We want visitors to marvel at the perfection of this mechanism called the human body, but also to become aware of the damage certain habits can cause to our health,” said Diánez.
In addition, the exhibition is especially aimed at schools, offering a unique opportunity for students to learn about human anatomy, physiology, and health. “Initiatives like this are essential for young people to familiarize themselves with the human body and understand the importance of taking care of our health in daily life,” added the councillor.
The Plastination Technique
Rascid Bafraouri, the event promoter, explained that the bodies displayed in the exhibit were preserved using a revolutionary technique called plastination, developed by German physician Gunther Von Hagens. This technique, which has been in development for over 20 years, allows bodies to be preserved intact for exhibition.
The exhibition is divided into different rooms dedicated to the most important systems of the human body: skeletal, muscular, nervous, circulatory, digestive, respiratory, urinary, and reproductive. Additionally, fetuses at various stages of gestation are also displayed, providing a more complete view of human biology.
Guides and Interactive Technology
One of the most notable features of this exhibition is the integration of interactive technology. In addition to specialized guides present in all rooms, attendees will be able to interact with LED screens that provide additional information about the body systems. This will make the experience more dynamic and educational for both children and adults.
Hours and Pricing
The exhibition will be open to the general public from Tuesday to Friday, from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM, and on weekends (Saturday and Sunday) at two times: from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM and from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM.
Discounts will be available for Estepona residents, with tickets priced at 12 euros. Educational visits will also be organized for school groups, with special schedules tailored to their educational needs.
‘BODIES. Real Human Bodies’ arrives in Estepona as a unique opportunity to explore human anatomy in an educational and interactive way. With a pedagogical approach that promotes awareness of health and the body, the exhibition is set to attract a diverse audience, from students to families, and stands as one of the most exciting events of the season in the city.
